Certified Neuromuscular Therapy
This treatment is geared toward relief of specific muscle pain and dysfunction, injury prevention and treatment, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Common conditions that can benefit from this treatment include muscle pain from herniated and bulging discs, migraine headaches, whiplash syndrome, rotator cuff strains, frozen shoulder, and piriformis syndrome. The goal of this treatment is specific pain relief and is usually a short-term therapy. A prenatal version is available for expectant mothers who have specific medical conditions.
Certified KMI Structural Integration
This treatment is geared toward restoring posture and alignment to the whole body, correction of chronic holding patterns, and improving joint range of motion through the manipulation of connective tissue and muscle, done in twelve specific sessions. Each session addresses a specific component of the body for realignment, and completing the twelve sessions is vital for optimum results of the therapy. This treatment is done while wearing a bathing suit or underwear (and bra), and viewing by the therapist in this attire is required to assess your body's progression with the therapy. KMI sessions are always 90 minutes in length.
Certified Prenatal Massage
This treatment is perfect for expectant mothers in the second and third trimesters and focuses on relieving the areas of pain in an ever-changing pregnant body. Swedish strokes are used to ensure relaxation while Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release techniques help to alleviate and prevent pain. Common areas that are addressed in the pregnant body include lower back, hip and upper back pain, migraines, pubic symphysis dysfunction, and edema of the legs. Labor induction techniques can also be used if indicated by the patient’s physician. This treatment is always performed with the mother in a side-lying position.
Myofascial Release Therapy
This treatment specifically focuses on the fascial (connective tissue) system in the body, and the release of its restrictions which impair the movement of specific muscles and joints. It also addresses larger chronic holding patterns in the body that have developed over time, which can aid in daily chronic pain and dysfunction.
This treatment is fully customized to the client's needs by using various modalities to achieve pain relief, but less specific than Certified Neuromuscular Therapy. Modalities that may be used include Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, trigger point therapy, and cranio sacral therapy. This is a great treatment for both massage veterans and newbies alike who need pain relief. Customized Therapy is also perfect for clients who have received Certified Neuromuscular Therapy, and want to continue with massage for the maintenance of symptoms.
This series of treatments is specific to new moms who delivered by Cesarean Section. One 60 minute initial session and two additional 30 minute sessions are needed to help the surgical incision heal more quickly. The series also helps the scar tissue to remain flexible and prevents it from adhering to the muscle and connective tissue underneath the skin. For more detailed bodywork, an additional 30 minutes may be added on to the last two sessions to help relieve back and neck pain through Neuromuscular Therapy.
